Peace

No longer will I hear the cries of babies; no longer will I see planes fly over us, crushing houses as they go; no longer will I hear guns shooting. Peace has come, people have settled and there will be no more crying or hurting. We shall rest without fear, live without trepidation. The twisted gun rests in the town centre and a knot stops the bullet that symbolises what we fear: war. The knot means peace, love and joy. So we celebrate not having to live in terror or eat rations, but sleep in our beds without horror.

  1. A beautiful and moving response to a very powerful image. You are wise beyond your years. Hopefully as an adult, people like you can be in positions to make choices and decisions for the good of our planet.
